I talked with a colleague last week, who works in Inside Sales. He told me that one interviewer came in, while he was interviewing for a position, and dropped a pen on the floor.
Some months later, the interviewer told the new hire that he nearly did not hire him because he did not show enough of a customer service mentality – he didn’t pick up the pen!
Interesting approach! I guess the candidate must have demonstrated a lot of other great qualities, because he is doing a fine job.
